Age is just a number
2012年3月17日 (土)
Hey folks, how’s it going? I’m doing fine, thank you;)
The other day I spoke on the phone with my grandmother. She’ll be 86 in a few weeks. When I asked her how she’s doing, I was really pleased by her reply. She said, “Even though I’m nearing 90, I still feel as energetic as I did 20 years ago.” I asked her if she “felt 86 years old?” She asked me what I meant. I said that I wanted to know if she felt how sheexpected she would feel when she turned a particular age.
She was silent for a moment before she responded.
Then she said that if you base your behavior on turning a paticular age (for example getting married by 28, having kids by 33…buying a house by 40) you may not necessarily be living according to your own pace. Instead, you live according to predescribed social expectations that may or may not make you happy.
The point is – You’re only as old as you feel. And if you feel old, you’re probably not having enough fun.
