Its Netflix time again. This was a cult eighties classic that had passed me by but which I heard mention of and had heard plenty of quotes from. Shot in black and white (pretentious but to be expected from a low budget arty movie) and set around a day in the life of two inner city stores, it charts the ridiculousness of life in working class America. Full of weird characters and mental cases, the film lurches from out-right hilarious to offensively bad scripting and acting. A curate`s egg of unwieldly proportions but strangely compelling all at the same time. I have to admit I found it hard to get through and then hard to forget. One of those films that stays with you, but in a good way.
