Collections and hobbies
2017年7月14日 (金)
Hello everyone. Today I was thinking about what my hobby was. In UK when we ask someone “What is your hobby?” usually is means a collection or a craft or something on those lines. I would have to say my hobby is probably shamisen. When I was younger I collected lots of things; like Pokamon cards, coins, and model airplanes. I think as we get older, we have less time to spend on hobbies. So I asked myself “Do hobbies change as we get older?” I definitely think yes. When I was younger, I did a lot of things to pass time but nowadays I want to be mentally engaged in what I am doing. Of course I have always loved sports, so without thinking about sports some of my newer hobbies are; gardening, cooking/baking, DIY, painting and reading. Maybe Muhammad Ali said it best: Anyone who believes the same things in his 40’s that he did in his 20’s has wasted 20 years of his life. You change. That’s what you do. Life changes you.
