Disney Starwars Pt. 2

They now have me over a barrel, Disney that is. I am duty bound to go and see every new Starwars movie because I always have, well since Return of The Jedi anyway. And so it was, with the latest installment of the rapidly burgeoning franchise, that I went with my usual  trepidation, fearing it would be awful. Well, it was the usual story, droids, lightsabers, space battles, princesses, and that hairy thing called Chewie. It wasn’t groundbreaking, it wasn’t terrible, but it lacked a strong story. It felt it was building but never really arrived anywhere. A going through the motions exercise, cute characters for the kids, some explosions etc. but it was all a bit flat. Of course, I will go to the next installment but I am beginning to lose the force now, especially with the death of Han Solo, but then he was far too old. A sign perhaps that the next generation should grow up with whatever the new Darth is called, and I should go and have a coffee instead.

Going through the motions – Doing what is expected without using any imagination.
