Hello everyone! I have been thinking about taking a trip to Kyoto for a while now and wondered what I should do there. I have been researching touristy places to visit but wondered if there was something off the beaten path? I went to Kyoto a really long time ago and cannot really remember that much (apart from the beauty of the temples). Lots of my student have taken trips there recently and advised me that spring is the most beautiful time to visit. I would really like to wear a kimono and visit temples. As a foreigner, I don’t really have much opportunity to wear kimono and when I do I get a little embarrassed because to be honest, I don’t think they suit me. There is a certain grace and elegance that I associate with kimono wearing, so I hope to do that justice if I wear one for the day. Also, there is the issue of colours, hair sets, make up, the list goes on. I really am in ore of Japanese women who can do all this by themselves. Just putting on a Yukata is like a rubrics cube to me! Anyway, watch this space! If my Kimono does turn out to be beautiful on me and I get a photo, I might just post a photo!
