The inner child
When we throw off our childish ways and mature into adulthood we tend to forget what life is. Its an oft heard mantra but does it ring true? Well in many ways I believe it has a ring of truth to it. Watching my kids singing, dancing and playing without any embarrassment, just following their feelings, is a very refreshing thing to see. They have no concept of what they should be doing, which tends to cloud our adult thought. We have many responsibilities, and of course work, to fill our days and the nagging guilt that we are always wasting time, that we should be using our time effectively. Well I think kids have a better take on life, in that they just live in the moment and enjoy whatever it is they are doing. So my advice is to take a break from being your adult self and try living just in the moment without worrying about tomorrow, because kids are always smiling and adults are always forgetting to.
Throw off – discard
Oft heard – Often heard
Ring of truth – Some truth to it
To cloud your thoughts – To prevent us from thinking clearly
Nagging – will not go away, continue to annoy you.
