Recently I was checking out YouTube looking for something to watch while I did the dishes when I stumbled across a video by Derren Brown. He is a rather famous illusionist and hypnotist from the UK. He generally takes peoples preconceived ideas and plays with your version of what is actually real, and then tricks you into believing a false reality. This was a program about gambling. He claimed he had created a perfect formula for predicting which horse would win any horse race He then convinced a member of the public by predicting the winning horse of a random horse race 24 hours before the race and sending them the name of the winner. This was done for five consecutive races. It was great fun to watch and he revealed the trick at the end of the show. I hadn’t watched any of his shows for years but this one rekindled my interest. Worth a look if you have a spare hour.
