Tomorrowland

This is a Disney movie based on the Tomorrow Land area of Disneyland, a futuristic area which contains the popular ride Space Mountain. It stars George Clooney who is somewhat hit and miss but does well in this movie. This is definitely one for the kids as the plot is ridiculous and yet extremely predictable. It follows the fortunes of a young girl who is thrust into a futuristic parallel universe and forced to save the world. I found the SFX a little OTT at times and barely believable. It has the feel of a movie that everyone was enjoying making but got a bit bored with and so rushed the ending. It is also very long at nearly two and a half hours. It fits the bill if you want something to escape into which involves little energy on your part, but I wouldn’t have paid to see it.

predictable – easy to guess what will happen

SFX – special effects (these days mostly CGI – Computer generated Imagery)

OTT – Over the top – Too much of something

Fits the bill – suitable for a particular job or purpose
