Little women

2017年9月27日 (水)

Hey everyone. Recently one of my students asked me if she could lend a book from me. I didn’t have the book but it made me think about reading. The book she wanted to borrow was “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott. When I was younger this was one of my favourite books. The story is based around 4 sisters: Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, who live with their mother during the civil war. The story is basically about the 4 girls growing up and the hardships they face. It was quite an emotional book for me and showed how people can work through hardships and build happy lives. When I was growing up, I only had my brother so I found the dynamic between the sisters really interesting to read. I most identified with Jo because she is also tomboyish. I think this is a wonderful book for any English student to read, particularly women. What is your favourite book and how has it inspired you?
