Moving in Japan
2017年10月30日 (月)
Recently I moved to a new apartment. I’ve been thinking about moving for a while, but finally made the decision. It’s difficult to find a new place to live, and it’s also risky. You never know how much the utilities are going to cost until you’ve lived there for a while. But for the time being, I’m happy with my decision and I’m happy with new home.
With that being said, I would just like to say that moving in Japan is a much bigger hassle than it needs to be. And the cost is unbelievable. In Canada, we only need to pay a damage deposit and the first months rent (sometimes the last month’s rent too) and we can move in with no other documentation. In Japan, however, you need to do a lot and pay a lot just to move. And after that, there are still things that need to be done and settled. “Moving” truly is a big business in Japan!
