Hello everyone!
My name is Joe and I’m from a small, northern city in Canada. I’ve always been interested in Japan, so that’s why I came here to teach English. I’ve lived in Japan for over nine years now. I’ve taught in Fukushima Prefecture and Hokkaido (Obihiro and Kushiro). I love Japanese food.I want to learn how to cook Japanese food but it’s very difficult for me. I also want to study more Japanese. My goal is to become fluent in both spoken and written Japanese. I think Sapporo is a great place to live! There are lots of fun and interesting things to do in and around the city. Let`s chat when you come to STEP UP! |
Morning Movies

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to see a movie at the movie theater in the morning before work. I didn’t even know they had morning shows, so I was shocked to see that the movie started at 9:20 am. I figured that there would be few people there at that time in the morning, however, when I got there, there was a big line of people waiting to buy a ticket. And when I bought my ticket, I was surprised to find out that morning shows are much cheaper than the other shows!
Wathcing a movie in the morning was fun and cheap. I enjoyed the “movie experience.” I think this will be my new hobby…Morning movies!
First thing in the morning

My morning routine is quite simple. I don’t usually start work until late, so I have some time to relax and take it easy pretty much every day. The first thing I do when I get out of bed is make my bed. This is a good habit to have because it is the first accomplishment of the day. The theory is, if you start your day with an accomplishment, you will achieve more throughout the day.
After making my bed, I always drink coffee. I enjoy the process of making coffee and always make it by hand. I enjoy my coffee while watching Youtube or reading the news. Then I have breakfast and get ready for the day.
I really like my relaxing mornings and delicous coffee!
My Dream Came True

Last week I had an opportunity to make my dream come true. My favorite musician came to Japan from the States for the first time in 16 years and I went to see her perform in Tokyo. It was an amazing experience. I’ve always wanted to see her perform live but never had the chance becuase she’s American and rarely does concerts ourside the US.
Her concert was even better than I had expected and I was completly moved. It was truly a dream come true!
