Wasabi antics
2017年2月28日 (火)
Hello everyone!
Today I want to talk about my dog. My dog is called “Wasabi” and I love him to the moon and back. I often call him my shadow because he is always with me when I am at home. Recently, he really enjoys snow shoveling with me. Wasabi thinks that he is “helping” me. He watches me collect the snow on my massive green shovel and then just as I am about to move the snow to the dumping spot, he jumps onto my shovel! He then looks back at me and I have to push him. This is completely the opposite of help, he causes a mini avalanche every time but alas, I love him so I push him for a little while then he jumps off and we repeat the whole process again. If I don`t let him jump on the shovel, he cries. Anyway, I wanted to share the photo of him jumping on my snow shovel. I hope everyone likes it.
Eggs For Breakfast!
2017年2月27日 (月)
I love eggs! I can eat eggs everyday and never get tired of eating them. I especially like eggs for breakfast. I eat fried eggs, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and omelets. Eggs with toast is definitely the best combination. Of course, Japanese egg omelets are also delicious and so is Oyakodon.
Some people say that eggs are unhealthy, while others say they are healthy. I think they are healthy as long as you don’t eat too many! What do you think? What is your favorite way to eat eggs?
If you could live anywhere in the world...
2017年2月25日 (土)
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
This is actually a very difficult question, because there are many things to consider when choosing a place to live. For example: safety, culture, climate, cost, medical care, convenience, and many more. There must be many good places to live in the world, and it is difficult to know whether a place is really a good place until you have lived there, but I think that Sapporo is the best place for me. I love traveling, and I want to visit many more places in my life, but no matter where I go, I am always very happy when I arrive back home in Sapporo. It’s a bit strange, because I didn’t come here until I was 20 years old, but I think this is a very comfortable, friendly place. Also, it is safer and the cost of living is lower than many cities around the world. There are many places I would like to visit for a few weeks or even a few months, but Sapporo is where I want to build my life.
I wonder where you want to live, and why. If you read this and have any thoughts, please tell me next time you see me in class.
Cone Heads
2017年2月23日 (木)
This weeks movie magic was provided again by a Saturday Night Live spinoff called Coneheads, featuring Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin. They play a couple of aliens who crash near Manhattan and decide to settle down and live in America. Although they have large conically shaped heads and speak in a very eccentric way they are able to raise a child in the suburbs. It is a simple comedy and although quite childish it does have its charm. The acting is good in parts although the script can be a little silly at times. I think the actors did a reasonable job and although being described as “dismal, dreary and fairly desperate” I found it reasonably entertaining.
Not in the same league as Wayne`s World, but if you feel like a simple no-brainer comedy this could fit the bill.
Review score: 6/10
Learning some geography
2017年2月23日 (木)
Hello everyone. So, as everyone knows, I love challenging myself. This month Ive decided to learn all the prefectures in Japan. This is not so easy for me because I seemingly have the memory of a fish when it comes to remembering kanji. Today I was teaching one of my high school students and she told me that it was really easy to remember the prefectures and what is famous in each area. I think the education system in Japan is amazing because I`m not confident that I would be able to name all the counties in England and what each county is famous for. My county is Lincolnshire and it is famous for sausages.
I wonder if there is an easy way to remember all the kanji and places in Japan. If you know a cheat to help my memory, please tell me!!!
