The Long Weekend

Hey everyone – I had a wicked weekend! My friend got married on friday and I was invited to the celebration. Japanese weddingｓ are very different to British weddingｓ, the bride got to wear 3 dresses, I couldnt believe it. I bet she was well tired by the end of the night. I took lots of pictures which Im going to send to my family. I caught a cold on saturday so I still havent been snowboarding. Fingers crossed for next weekend.

They say that a change is as good as a holiday for reviving the mind and the body. That’s why I decided to start doing ballet classes again. It’s been about 15 years since I last took a class but my first class went well and I really enjoyed it. Luckily, the class level was not too difficult and the teacher was very patient and kind. Not fully undertanding Japanese language didn’t matter either as ballet steps are all in French!

And so it begins. Yesterday snow fell in the centre of Sapporo for the first time this winter, after the temperature began to drop this week. It`s freezing! I always love the first snow shower of the year as it makes me feel like Christmas is coming. Soon, I`ll start my Christmas shopping, buying lots of presents to send home to England. I`m excited already!

Today I woke up super excited because I looked out my window and it was snowing! Unlike all my friends I havent been snowboarding yet – i wanted to wait until the conditions are better. The down side of the snow is that its getting really cold now, – wrap up warm so you dont catch colds. Im not looking forward to shovelling snow this year, it always piles up outside my garage and its a pain in the morning.

Even though it hasn’t really snowed in Sapporo yet, I went snowboarding at Onze last Sunday. It was great to be back on my board again and having fun with my friends. Onze only has ‘fake’ snow but it’s a good place to find your feet again after months of not snowboarding. I hope it snows for real in Sapporo soon so that I can enjoy my favourite mountains again.
