Snowboarding Time

It’s just about that time! What time you ask? Time to Snowboard! That’s right, Onze ski area opens this sunday, and you can bet that I will be the first person in line for this seasons first chair ride. I have already picked up a new snowboard and I am waiting for more gear from the United States. I’ve been watching DVD’s and practicing in my living room and in Maruyama Park by jumping on to benches and whatever else I can find. I’m ready to snowboard. Are you? Come on up and enjoy the fun!!!!!
My trip to Tokyo

Hi everyone, Gosh the year is going fast – I can’t believe it’s already November! While it gets colder and colder in Sapporo, Tokyo still enjoys relatively warm weather. Ten friends and I visited Japan’s capital on the 27th of last month. We had a great time. After going to a very nice and very authentic Italian restaurant in Shibuya, we went to a huge Halloween party. People wore the most amazing costumes. What did you do for Halloween?

Well, last week was Halloween- I hope everyone enjoyed making those jack-o-lanterns and wearing pointy witch hats! Modern Halloween comes from America, but originally this festival was celebrated in Scotland and Ireland. In olden times, Halloween was a little like Obon in Japan. For us Englsih however, today (November 5th) is a special day- Bonfire Night! Tonight millions of English people will make giant fires and burn “guys” on top. Also, lots of fireworks will be let off. Great times!

I hope everyone had a great halloween! I wore a dog costume and went trick or treating with some children, it was fun (however I did get some strange looks from the people who passed by). Did you celebrate Halloween? It`s not too late…. you can still eat some pumpkin soup or halloween candy.

Hi, this is my first entry in this diary and I wanted to thank everyone for welcoming me to the school. I know I will really enjoy working here. I dont really know what to write for my first entry, so I`ll keep it short and sweet. I`m super excited about the winter season coming, everyone is talking about snowboarding and I can`t wait. Winter is definalty the best time of year for me!
