Crazy weather
2007年7月14日 (土)
Recently in England and Japan there has been some crazy weather. In both countries there has been a lot of flooding and strong winds. I have even heard there is a typhoon coming to Hokkaido! In England, this king of weather is unusual. Usually it`s pretty calm and mild- warm and wet in summer and cool and wet in winter. How about in Japan- do you often have extreme weather?
Wakeboarding
2007年7月13日 (金)
Hi there! One of the reasons I love Hokkaido is that there are so many thing to do here in summer. On Sunday, my friends and I went to Lake Toya. It was such a beautiful day and quite hot. We tried wakeboarding for the first time. Wakeboarding is like waterskiiing but you use a small surfboard rather than skis. It was a little difficult at first but once I got my balance it was fantastic fun. If you like active sports, I recommend that you try it!
Work it baby!!
2007年7月7日 (土)
Do you exercise? Have you ever done an aerobics class? Many students and friends of mine have been talking about the latest exercise program designed to fight the battle of the bulge *, Billy’s Bootcamp. I can’t believe the excitment surrounding this new exercise program! From what I’ve heard, the workout is very strenuous. Have you tried it yet? I think I’ll just stick to the gym… * = trying to lose fat from your body!
Onsen fever!
2007年7月5日 (木)
I love the hot springs in Japan, especially the ones with the sulphur smell and the milky white water! Last weekend, I went to Niseko and stayed at a lodge there. The lodge had an outside hot spring which was great! We also went to Goshiki Onsen, which was also terrific. I think Niseko is one of my favourite places for onsen, because you can enjoy the beautiful scenery as you soak away your free time in your favourite outside bath! Perfect.
Long Weekends
2007年7月3日 (火)
How do you enjoy your long wekends? This past long weekend I sat on the ferry for twenty hours to Oarai. There, I met my friuend from university, Russ. We practiced kickboxing and he tried to kick my head right off of my shoulders!! It was fun though and I wasn’t hurt. On Sunday we went to Tokyo for Russ’ first proffessional kickboxing match. It was a lot of fun. Then I walked to Ueno, Asakusa, Shiunjuku and finally Akihabara. To end my night, I had Katsudon in Asakusa and slept at Haneda aiport so I could catch my 6:30a.m. flight back to Sapporo yesterday. Boy, was I tired last night.
