Summer Dining

Hi everyone, One of the things I like most about summer is eating outside. It might be a picnic or in a park or coffee and cake on a terrace, I love being able to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine while I’m eating. Even though Sapporo is very cold for most of the year, I’ve noticed that more and more restaurants and cafes are offering outside dining. Do you enjoy eating outside? What are some of your favourite outside restaurants?

Hi everyone! Did you all have a good weekend? I had a quiet weekend last week, which is unusual for me! On Friday, I met a friend and we enjoyed the warm weather in Oodori Park. I think Oodori Park is a great place to relax and watch the world go by- what do you think? There we can see young people practicing dancing, older people walking with their friends, students studying and people just relaxing and having fun. Sapporo people are very lucky to have such a good place in the city centre!

A global society?

This week was a reminder to me of how difficult it sometimes is to organise things across two countries. Attempting to get a new passport, and arrange a marriage certificate from my hometown, has been a bit of a headache! Many people say that business in becoming more global but I fear that some agencies are yet to catch on. Oh well…I’m sure things will haver improved by the time I have to update my passport again…in ten years time!!

Camping!

It`s that time of year again. I`ve taken the tent and barbeque things out of the cupboard, dusted off my finest camping hat and am ready to do some serious camping this summer. This weekend I`m going to Niseko, so will hopefully go to an onsen on the way home too. A great weekend! The only problem with camping is theweather- if it rains, it`s a nightmare!

My obsession

Do you have an obsession? Something you think about or do more than you should? I am starting to become obsessed with Mt Moiwa. It’s strange, I know. But it’s the biggest mountain that I can get to mama chari. I have already hiked Moiwa twice this week. Tonight, I will start to hike it at three a.m. to watch the sunrise. Then I will head home, relax and then climb back up Moiwa for sunrise. I guess it’s better than being addicted to internet shopping!
