SNAKES!!!!

I thought summer was here, but maybe i was wrong. The rain has retuened and I’m not happy about it. In the last three weeks I have seen three different snakes, a long green one, a short brown one that tried to bite my friend, and a long black one that scared my girlfriend half to death! In almost three years of living in Hokkaido I had never seen a snake and now I’ve seen three in as many weeks. Who knew Hokkaido had so many snakes!

Hi everyone! I had a very busy weekend. On Friday night, I went to a friend’s wedding. We ate some wonderful Japanese food and the bride looked beautiful. She wore a western style white dress with a kimono style train – very original. On Sunday, I watched my fiance Ben compete in the Ikada race. His team dressed up as salary men and decorated their raft with office materials. Luckily it didn’t rain until after the race. On Monday, I went shopping for souvenirs for my family. I am returning to Australia for two weeks in August. It will be the first time I have seen my friends and family in two years. I am very excited and looking forward to eating a big Aussie steak!

Park Golf Fun

Hi everyone, What beautiful weather we’ve been having? I’ve been making the most of it by getting out and about and enjoying Sapporo. Last weekend, I played park golf for the first time. It was a lot of fun! I didn’t get a very good score but I’ll try better next time. On Monday, I went rollerblading along the Toyohira River. It was a very hot day and I got a little sunburnt. How have you been enjoying the summer?

World cup disappointment

Hello everyone! I have been very busy supporting England in the world cup, but now I am sad because we lost against Portugal. I think Germany will win this time, but England will come back and win in South Africa in 2010! I couldnt play football for 6 weeks because I injured my leg, but I hope I will be able to play again soon. I am training my leg by climbimg mountains-last week it was Yoichi-Dake. It was really beautiful and the views were great. In August me and Allan will go on a five day hike in Daisetzusan-wish us luck!

Hi! I hope everyone is well. This week I`ve been planning my trip to Kyoto and Nara, and am getting quite excited. I`m going on the 29th June, and hope to see lots of cool places, such as the Golden Temple and zen gardens. I`ve recently been given a yukatta, so I may also wear that! Hopefully the weather will be good. Last week I also played park golf with some friends, which was really fun. I`m not too good yet, but I will improve. Maybe, just maybe, I`ll be the next Tiger Woods!
