My exams are over!

2006年12月4日 (月)

Hi! I hope everyone is well and enjoying the winter season. Yesterday I took a Japanese test at Hokkaido University. I had to answer questions about kanji (difficult!) grammar and reading, as well as listening. It wasn`t too bad, but I have to wait until February to find out my results! In the mean time I can relax and listen to more cricket on the radio. England are playing Australia at the moment, and it`s very exciting!

Christmas plans

2006年11月30日 (木)

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is keeping warm now that winter has come! It has begun to snow in the last week or so, which is exciting. Recently, I’ve been planning my Christmas holidays. Deciding what to do was difficult, but finally, I decided to take a trip to Tokyo for a few days. Also,I’ll go to see Nikko and Kamakura, which’ll be great. I’m especially looking forward to Nikko, as I’ve heard that it is very beautiful. I can’t wait!

My new job...as a gourmet guide!

2006年11月28日 (火)

Hi everyone! How often do you have visitors from another city or country stay at your house? Where do you usually take them? Today, some friends of mine from England and New Zealand arrive. The will stay with my fiance and I for 10 days. It’s their first trip to Japan so no doubt they will find many things very surprising! We have many activities planned including eating lamb at the Sapporo Beer Factory, eating yakatori, eating sushi, eating ramen…hmmm…everything involves food! Do you have any other suggestions?? 😉

Holy Cow

2006年11月25日 (土)

It snowed like crazy yesterday early in the afternoon. I was so excited. Then, it all melted as quickly as itsnowed. Today was beautiful and sunny. The weather this fall and winter has been so strange. Even the news forecasters can’t predict the weather two hours before it changes. Go figure. Is it global warming? Whatever it is, I hope you got out and enjoyed the sunshine because knowing Hokkaido, it’s about to get really cold.

Happy Thanks Giving!

2006年11月21日 (火)

Hi everyone, My week was both good and bad. It was good because I went to Kokusai for snowboarding on Sunday and had a really fun day. The snow was a lot softer than I expected and I tried out many new tricks. Unfortunately, I cut my shin after crashing into another Step Up teacher, Hayden! The shin is the bone at the bottom of your leg. My cut was really deep so I had to go to the hospital and get stitched up. I was very afraid because I’d never had stitches before. The most painful part was when the docter put dissinfectant on my cut- the stitches didn’t hurt at all! Anyway, I’m ok now and looking forward to going to a Thanksgiving dinner this week. In Australia, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving so it will be a new experience for me.
