Happy New Year!
2007年1月22日 (月)
I know it`s a little late, but happy new year to everyone! I hope everyone had a good over Christmas and new year. I had a great time in Tokyo, Nikko and Kamakura. In Nikko we saw a famous shrine and lots of monkeys,as well as the famous “sleeping cat.” In Tokyo, we went to the Meiji Shrine, Sensou Ji in Asakusa and Roppongi Hills. And finally, in Kamakura we visited a number of lovely zen temples. It wa a great trip, and I`m looking forward to going back to Honshu again soon!
Who should I invite?
2007年1月17日 (水)
Hi everyone! How was your week? I have been busy writing invitations for my wedding. First, I had to choose what kind of invitation to write. Should I choose a very traditional style or something more modern? Next, I had to decide who to invite. This was more difficult than I expected. There are so many people I want to come and help me celebrate!! Who is invited to weddings in Japan?
Fun with Friends
2007年1月16日 (火)
Last Saturday I got to go snowboarding with my to friends Shuzou and Youhei at Sapporo Kokusai. As we all have busy schedules, it was the first time the three of us could meet together in a long time. It was so much fun, and really good for my Japanese practice. I really wish we could all hang out together more often. How often do you get to hangout with all of your friends together? I think we all need to make time for those that are important to us. What do you think?
Coming of Age...
2007年1月13日 (土)
Hi everyone, Last Monday was Coming of Age day in Japan – a day when many 20 year olds gather to celebrate becoming an adult. I was very impressed with the way young adults in Yubari celebrated. Despite the town’s financial hardships, these young people raised enough money for not only their own ceremony, but for future ceremonies. Congratulations to the young adults of Yubari – I think they will have a bright future!!
New Year's Resolutions
2007年1月9日 (火)
Hi everyone! Happy New Year! Did you have a nice January 1st? I went snowboarding at Teine. It was a lot of fun because all my friends were together. Every year I try to set some goals for the year ahead. Last year my resolution was to start excercising so I joined the gym and have been enjoying the benefits ever since. This year my resolution is to make better use of my free time by learning a new skill or reading more. What are your New Year’s resolutions?
