time off
2008年8月19日 (火)
Hey, how was Obon? I had some time off work, so i went to Hakodate. Ive been there once but i didnt have time to look at the night view, which i heard was amazing. I finally had chance, it was so beautiful. Hakodate reminded me a lot of otaru, only bigger. I visited lots of churches and I was suprised by the number of foreign visitors, mostly I heard Spanish, which shocked me. I was happy because I could practice a little Spanish although ive never studied it. Anyway hope you had an interesting Obon. See you soon
Summer Travels
2008年8月7日 (木)
Hey everyone! Are you having a good summer? Mine has been great! Just last week I traveled to Vietnam for one week. My friend lives in Saigon so I was able to stay with him for a few days. I also went to Nha Trang to enjoy some time at the beach. Besides eating great Vietnamese food, I also went snorkeling, clubbing, and motorbiking. I wish I had had more time to visit some other places – one week wasn`t enough! I hope everyone enjoys some time off during Obon. Try not to get sunburned on these hot and sunny days!
Phew what a scorcher!!!
2008年7月15日 (火)
hello everyone! I had a scorcher of a weekend. I went to tokyo this weekend and boy was it hot! I spent the whole time overheating, the only time i felt comfortable was when i rode the subway. I really dont know how the people in the tokyo can put up with the heat, Im so glad I live in sapporo. The reason I went to Tokyo was to show my brother the sites, he is visiting me at the moment, so if you have have any suggestions for things to do, let me know. Enjoy the beautiful hot weather.
Maiko Kim
2008年7月2日 (水)
Hey! Is another beautiful day, summer is here! woooowooo! Last weekend I went to Osaka and Kyoto, I had a wicked time. I dressed up as a maiko, an apprentice Geisha. I think I`d make a TERRIBLE geisha, I could hardly walk in my kimono and waddled along the streets like a duck rather than an elegant woman. I have alot of respect these women, its really difficult to walk in the shoes they gave me and its even more difficult to breathe in a kimono. I will stick to my jeans!!! Next time you go to Kyoto I recommend trying the Geisha experience or Samuri for the men, its totally fun!
Rafting on the Toyohira
2008年6月26日 (木)
Have you ever been rafting? Next month, on Sunday July 20th, I`ll be rafting down the Toyohira river with three other friends while participating in the Ikada Kudari. I`ve never been in a raft race but I`m looking forward to it. Our team name is the Bean Flickers because we love eating edamame and then flicking the shells. Hope you can come down and give my team support. We`ll all be dressed in green, naturally;)
